Beginner’s Angling in Tirthan Valley
Trout Fishing in Tirthan!
The trip will be hosted in Tirthan Valley, one of Himachal Pradesh’s hidden gems, where trout fishing is very a common sport, conducted under the guidance of an expert and with permits. Only catch and release (wherein the fish you catch will be released back into the river), is allowed in this region.
Fishing is a sport that requires a lot of patience and is very meditative as well.
Best time for this trip would be September mid onwards.

TRAVEL PLAN
Day 1:
– Meet and greet at Chandigarh airport at 8:00 AM.
Our Services Begin
– After meeting your trip leader, the group will set forth towards Tirthan Valley which is about 250 kms from Chandigarh. Since the region is mountainous, driving time will be approximately 8 hours.
– Lunch can be had enroute at some dhaba. On this route, we will drive through Kullu valley as well, famous for its shawls.
– Arrive at your resort and check in. Snacks and tea/coffee will be served upon arrival.
– Our resort is located on the banks of the Tirthan river. Evening at leisure on the riverside.
– Dinner in-house. Overnight at resort.
Day 2:
– After breakfast today, we will introduce you to our Fishing guide who will give you an introduction on the do’s and don’ts of fishing and will help you get started. The owner of the resort is also an avid angler and will be happy to share his insights.
– Spend a fruitful morning trying your hand at angling, (and hopefully, you will be able to enjoy a catch!)
– Lunch at the resort.
– Post lunch, guests can rest in the room and/or enjoy another round of angling.
– In the evening, we will enjoy a BBQ and bonfire.
– Overnight at resort.
Day 3:
– After breakfast, spend the morning leisurely enjoying another round of angling.
– After lunch, we will drive 20 kms to a high altitude village called Sharchi. This is a pristine village with about 45 houses. It’s a quiet day trip.
– Return to the resort for snacks and tea/coffee.
– Evening at leisure on the riverside.
– Dinner in-house. Overnight at resort.
Day 4:
– After breakfast, we’ll drive to Jalori Pass, a high altitude pass located 25 kms from Tirthan valley. At a height of 10.821ft, with no population or village around, Jalori pass has a small and beautiful Mahakali temple, and wonderful vistas.
– The group can hike up to the beautiful Seolsar lake or Raghupur fort. This is an ideal day trip.
– Lunch can be packed sandwiches from the resort or the group can grab a bite at one of the eateries near the pass.
– Drive back to the resort.
– Evening at leisure on the riverside. Today, the group will enjoy a cook-out (veg and non veg).
– Dinner in-house. Overnight at resort.
Day 5:
– Check out of the resort after an early breakfast and head back to Chandigarh.
– Lunch enroute. If there is time, the group can also stop at Kullu to buy shawls.
– Group reaches Chandigarh

1. The trip starts at Chandigarh airport
2. At the end of the trip, we’ll be happy to drop you off at your hotel or the airport (though we would highly recommend that you take a flight back home the following day)
3. The resort the group would be staying in is neat, but basic. Room service is not available in the rooms, neither are televisions
4. Wi-if may or may not be available subject to weather conditions
5. The package includes all meals from the moment the group joins the trip i.e. at Chandigarh airport on Day 01, and before drop off on Day 05
6. The car will have an overhead carrier for your luggage. But it is advisable to travel light
7. The weather will be pleasant in the day but nights will be cold
8. The car will only be available for the activities mentioned
9. The cost mentioned in this plan is for 4 adult guests. Should you wish to enquire for a smaller or larger group, a group with children, or a group cost without a Trip Leader, we will rework the cost and send
