We are delighted that you have shown interest in the Kerala sojourn we have put together from 2-8 December.

This cleverly packaged holiday has it all – mountains, tea estates, beaches, houseboat and backwaters and the cultural, historical circuit.

We are adept at organising trips catering specifically to the needs of seniors. The trips are planned to suit your pace of travel as well as your preferences for cuisine. Indian veg food will be made available for those who need it.

This is a guided tour. The English speaking guide will be with you from pick up at Kochi till drop off.

All the properties chosen have comfortable access to rooms ideal for seniors.

A word on how we do our pricing – When you go through our pricing, you’ll realise that we have given you an all inclusive cost. This is done to ease your travel experience – so you don’t have to worry about a thing on the trip. All you have to do is pack your bags, reach Kerala, enjoy the State and carry enough money for shopping. Everything else is taken care of!

ITINERARY

02 Dec – Day 1:
– Arrive at Kochi International Airport. It is recommended to reach by 11:00 AM latest.

Our Services Begin

– Meet your guide and transfer straight to Munnar, 4 hours away. One of the most popular hill stations in India, Munnar is home to sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities.

– Check into hotel. Evening at leisure.

– Overnight at hotel.

03 Dec – Day 2:
– After breakfast leave for sightseeing of Munnar, including Iravikulam National Park, Tea Museum (closed on Monday) etc.

– Overnight at hotel.

04 Dec – Day 3:
– After breakfast, check out and head towards Thekkady. Drive will take 2.5 hours (60 kms approximately). We actually host you in a very offbeat property inside a cardamom estate about 25 kms from Thekkady.

– Arrive and check into your hotel.

05 Dec – Day 4:
– After breakfast, drive 4 hours to your beach resort in Mararikulam. At leisure for independent activities/enjoy amenities of the hotel/spend time at the beach etc.

– Overnight at hotel.

06 Dec – Day 5:
– Drive to Alleppey (30 mins drive) and check into the houseboat.

– The Ricebarge – a converted cargo boat – will collect you from the jetty for a lazy journey through the meandering backwaters as you watch local life going on by the banks. In the evening the boat will anchor safely for the night. This experience is heavenly for those who enjoy eating seafood as the boat will stop to pick the fresh catch of the day.

– All meals will be served onboard (lunch, dinner and breakfast).

– Overnight at Ricebarge.

07 Dec – Day 6:
– Today you begin the last leg of your journey. We transfer you to Kochi, or Cochin (1 hour drive) – one of the oldest port cities of India that has a very rich cultural past and cosmopolitan association. Also known as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’, Cochin is believed to be the finest natural harbour in the world.

– A tour of Kochi comprises visits to the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. See the Chinese fishing nets, which dot the harbour as you drive along the coastline.

– The oldest Synagogue in India, Paradesi is a must visit. Located in Jew Town, once the spice hub of the country, the area has old buildings, new cafes and a beautiful buzz. It is also a good place to pick up quality cardamom, black pepper, dry ginger, clove and cinnamon.

– Please note that skirts, shorts and sleeveless cannot be worn into the Synagogue.

– Since we host you in a hotel close to the tourist hub, you can enjoy the evening exploring the cafes, art galleries and eateries in Fort Kochi. We’ll also take you to see a show of Kalaripayattu, Kerala’s famous ancient martial art form.

– Overnight at hotel.

08 Dec – Day 7:
– Leave for Kochi airport after breakfast, based on flight schedule, with cherished memories of a wonderful trip.
