Day 1

  • Arrive at Kochi International Airport.
  • Our Services Begin
  • Our cab will pick you and transfer you straight to Munnar, 4 hours away. One of the most popular hill stations in India,
  • Munnar is home to sprawling tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, trekking and holiday facilities.
  • Check into hotel. Evening at leisure.
  • Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

  • After breakfast leave for unguided sightseeing of Munnar, including Iravikulam National Park, Tea Museum (closed on Monday) etc. (Entrances extra).
  • We’ll get a cake arranged for your husband’s birthday.
  • Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

  • After breakfast and head to Thekkady. Drive will take 3 hours (90 kms approximately). Thekkady is the location of the Periyar National Park.
  • Arrive and check into your hotel. After lunch, day is free to visit sites Thekkady is famous for – Mangala Devi temple, Murikkady, Kumily, Chellarkovil etc.
  • Overnight at hotel.

Day 4

  • Do take the early morning ride in the boat within the Periyar sanctuary. This is an extremely awesome experience and you might be able to spot wild elephants, bisons, wild boars, various kinds of birds, etc.
  • You can also go to Anakkara today. A small village in the Idukki district, Anakarra is just about 50 sq. km in area. Situated approximately 18 km from Idduki wildlife sanctuary on the Kumily-Munnar state highway, this place is famous for its spice plantations and picturesque waterfalls.
  • It will be worthwhile to visit the Kadathanadan Kalari Centre, a renowned centre of the traditional form of martial arts, Kalaripayyattu which was invented by Sage Parshuram. The programs arranged by the centre are specifically to showcase the ancient form of self-defence in a gallery specially designed for the safety of the fighters and the audience and to give insights into the discipline required for the art form.

  • Overnight at hotel.

Day 5

  • Drive to Alleppey (4 hrs drive). The Ricebarge – a converted cargo boat – will collect you from the jetty for a lazy journey through the meandering backwaters as you watch local life going on by the banks. In the evening the boat will anchor safely for the night. This experience is heavenly for those who enjoy eating seafood as the boat will stop to pick the fresh catch of the day.
  • All meals will be served onboard (lunch, dinner and breakfast).
  • Overnight at Ricebarge.

Day 6

  • Disembark from the houseboat at Alleppey after breakfast and drive 30 mins to your beach resort in Mararikulam. At leisure for independent activities/enjoy amenities of the hotel/spend time at the beach etc.
  • Dinner would be in-house.
  • Overnight at resort.

Day 7

  • Today you begin the last leg of your journey. We transfer you to Kochi, or Cochin (1 hour drive) – one of the oldest port cities of India that has a very rich cultural past and cosmopolitan association. Also known as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea’, Cochin is believed to be the finest natural harbour in the world.
  • You may check into your hotel and leave for a short tour of the satellite town of Kochi (Cochin) in the afternoon, which comprises visits to the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. See the Chinese fishing nets, which dot the harbour as you drive along the coastline.
  • The oldest Synagogue in India, Paradesi is a must visit. Located in Jew Town, once the spice hub of the country, the area has old buildings, new cafes and a beautiful buzz. It is also a good place to pick up quality cardamom, black pepper, dry ginger, clove and cinnamon.
    Please note that skirts, shorts and sleeveless cannot be worn into the Synagogue.
  • Since we host you in a hotel close to the tourist hub, you can enjoy the evening exploring the cafes, art galleries and eateries in Fort Kochi.
  • Overnight at hotel.

Day 8

  • Leave for Kochi airport after breakfast, based on flight schedule, with cherished memories of a wonderful trip.
